Forgan Smith Architects are a multi discipline company focused on the design and delivery of medium to large scale architectural projects, master planning and subdivision design.

The practice is based on a core of senior architects and urban designers with broad experience in design, documentation, contract administration and project management.

The strength of the company lies in its ability to tailor its service to meet the individual needs of clients. From full project and development management through to design, documentation and delivery, the company has the ability to deliver a specialised service through the engagement of specialised and well established consultants in a wide variety of fields.

By engaging specialised consultants, as needed, allows the company to provide expert advice from those at the cutting edge of development. The result is a project at the forefront of design at an economical cost to the client. Over 30 years of design and project management experience has seen the practice undertake projects in most states of Australia and overseas in China, Malaysia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, India Mayanma, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Forgan Smith Architects were recently appointed as the master planners for a three square kilometer mixed use development in Jericho, Palestine.

The practice has established the reputation of delivering well thought out projects with a high standard of documentation produced within a limited time schedule. The reputation includes the ability to create effective design, sensitive to both the urban environment and marketplace whilst at the same time being cost effective. A design process is employed which value manages the clients brief to ensure that all projects are efficient in design and construction and relate to the users needs. A Quality Assurance management system is in place to ensure all projects accurately meet their requirements.

The practice has received awards from the Australian Institute of Architects, Royal Australian Planning Institute, The Australian Governments "Green Street" programme, Queenslands Master Builders Association, South Australias Multi-Function Polis programme and the Victorian branch of the UDIA.

The company's director was the regional chairman of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (4 years) and the founding member of the Gold Coast City Councils Urban Design Advisory Committee. He has also been recognised for his work in the preparation of the Queensland Residential Design Guidelines and contribution to the Australian Building Codes Board. Greg is currently part of an international panel of judges for the Gold Coast Cultural Precinct design competition.
